A student by a school bus stop that is covered in snow saying the school day had to be changed.Due to the potential for freezing rain and a possible drop in temperatures overnight, the Cumberland County Schools will operate on a two-hour delay on Monday, December 10, 2018. Morning Prime Time will not be available and breakfast will not be served. Afternoon Prime Time will observe their normal schedule.

NC Elementary Honors Chorus Participants from Eastover-Central Elementary School are Colleen Tichich, teacher, and Cole Mason and Bella Aleman choral students.

Every year, the NC Music Educators Association (NCMEA) sponsors three Honors Choral Clinics and concerts for auditioned elementary, middle and high school choral students from across the state. The three choral groups performed at the NCMEA In-Service Conference on Sunday, November 11 at the Stevens Center in Winston-Salem. The purpose of the Honors Choral experience is to advance the musical growth and learning of choral students through the study of choral/vocal technique and music literacy. For 2018, Cumberland County Schools was honored to have 10 elementary, middle and high students selected for participation in the NC Honors Chorus Clinics and concerts.

Computers, electronics and other small applances are considered E-Waste and can be recycled at the E-Waste Drive in the Courthouse parking lot on the morning of November 17th.Wanted:  All old, used electronics and small appliances – anything with a cord.  Cumberland County, Sustainable Sandhills, Go Green Initiative, and Fayetteville Beautiful are collecting old electronics to recycle.  Drop them off on November 17, 2018, from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. in the Courthouse parking lot on Gillespie Street.  Help our community recycle electronics.

There was a PTA General Membership meetingChildren, parents and staff linked hand in hand announcing PTA is for every child and together has one voice.  November 8, at 2:45 p.m. Thank you to those that attended.
